Getting started with AI Producer

AI Producer edits a talking-head video the way a producer would: you upload the footage, say what you want in chat, and get back a finished cut with captions, motion graphics, music, and sound. This page walks through one project from upload to export.

Before you start

A video of one person talking to camera. That is what AI Producer is built for; multi-camera edits and screen recordings are not supported yet.
An MP4, MOV, or WebM file of up to 5 minutes and 1.5 GB, with audible speech. Vertical, horizontal, and square footage all work: the finished video comes out as 9:16, 16:9, or 1:1 to match the source orientation.
An OpusClip account. Editing spends credits from that account, so sign in with the account that holds them.

From upload to export

Upload your video. Open AI Producer and drop the file onto the upload zone on the Create page. The upload runs in the background while you write the brief.

Say what you want. Write the brief in your own words, as you would to an editor. Name the mood, the platform, and anything you do not want. A short brief is fine: AI Producer reads the footage and the transcript and fills in the rest.

Review the cut. The preview plays in the project page as soon as the first cut is ready. Ask for changes in the same chat; each request updates the same project instead of starting over.

Export and share. Export renders one MP4 in the matching orientation at up to 1080p and 30 fps. Download it, or share a link to the project.

What AI Producer can do

The editing skills applied to a talking-head video. Each one can be switched on or off: the Create page sets the defaults every new project starts from, and the composer inside a project changes that project alone. The brief decides how much of each the cut gets.

Credits

AI Producer uses the credits on your OpusClip account. Starting a project holds a first slice of credits, the rest is charged in slices as the work runs, and a run stops when the account cannot fund the next slice. Your credit history is under Credits usage in the account menu.

Edit from Codex or Claude Code

The same editing also runs inside a coding agent, through the AI Producer plugin or its MCP server. Today this path is open to a limited set of accounts; an account outside it is refused at sign-in rather than charged. The pages below are written so an agent can follow them as they are.
